2003 Isuzu Axiom transfer case

The middle asking price for a used one is $227.50, across 20 live eBay listings for the 2002–2004 generation. Half of them ask between $135.00 and $363.31. That’s what sellers are asking, not what buyers paid. Sold prices aren’t published anywhere you can count on, and asking prices usually run about a quarter higher than what things sell for — so we say which one this is.

How it comes off

A transfer case is heavy and comes down from under a truck that is sitting on stands. Bring a helper, and ask the yard how it wants one lowered.

  1. Expect fluid, or drain it first.
  2. Unbolt the driveshafts from it, and unplug its wiring and any shift linkage.
  3. With it supported, remove the bolts holding it to the transmission and slide it back.

The usual order on most cars. A 2003 Isuzu Axiom may hide a screw or a clip somewhere else: if a piece will not move, look for what is still holding it before you pry harder.

What to bring for it

Typical sizes, not a promise for every car. Everything to bring to a pull-your-own yard.

Is it worth pulling?

That depends on what the yard charges for it and how long it takes to get off the car, and on where it sits against the other 70 parts on a 2003 Isuzu Axiom that have a market. The full sheet for this vehicle ranks all of them by what you save and by what you clear.
